If you’ve ever found yourself putting off doing something you need or want to do to another time, only to put it off again and feeling more anxiety about the need to get it done, you are experiencing procrastination.

While we all do this from time to time, it can be an anxiety-inducing way of life of constant pressure with little feelings of relief when we finally accomplish the task.  It can feel crazy-making because you know you’ll feel better when you get the task or project done, yet you still find reasons to avoid doing it by telling yourself you’ll do it at some specified time in the future.

A common misconception of procrastination is the belief it is a function of laziness or lack of motivation. People can mistakenly judge themselves negatively for their procrastination without understanding the motivations that can help drive it.
