Let’s Get Started on Reaching Your Goals

Now is the Time to Change Your Life!

Not tomorrow.  Not someday.  Not soon.  Now!
Whether you want to make a change in your life or business, you can only do it in the present moment.
Most people dream of a better life, but stay stuck in the false security of the status quo. The journey to the life you dream of involves taking that first step.
It doesn’t matter how impossible it might seem. There is always a way to get started. The key is to take that first step.

A few things I’m really good at

If we don’t let our own lights shine,
how in the world do we expect to make a difference in the world?

Owning your strengths, abilities, and dreams that make you the unique and special you are isn’t arrogance.  It is actually what we are here for.  To become the best versions of ourselves that is possible.  But you can’t do that if you let fear and self-doubt stop you from living the kind of life your are intended to live.

I know firsthand how powerful feeling unworthy is.  Until I got sober in 1982 my life was a mess.  I had no self-esteem and couldn’t imagine being worthy of experiencing all that life has to offer.  Today, I am a transformed, actualized person who is living a life I never would have  believed possible. I learned through hard work, persistence, and faith that anything is possible.

Today I can share my strengths and hope with others.  I know that I have a lot to offer others.  Sharing the best version of me and helping inspire others to realize their dreams is why I am here and why I am good at what I do.

Inherent in every weakness is the seed of a strength.  That means that no matter how negative a situation may be and how hopeless it may seem, there is also the potential for transforming it into a positive.  I understand firsthand from tranforming my life how to help others transform theirs.

One of the blessings at having to overcome abuse and addiction is that I see how I can use my experiences to help inspire others to reach for their dreams.  I have a special respect for underdogs and those that have a hard time imaginging more in their lives. I know what it is like to go from living in darkness to living in the light.

There is a saying that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.  I know from my experiences in finding recovery from addiction and abuse how powerful despair is.  I also know that there is always hope especially when you can’t see it. The interesting thing about hope is that it frequently reveals itself when we let others help us.

A key principle in my recovery is seeing how I can use my experiences in helping to make a positive difference in the lives of others.  I undersand from my own experience what it is like to go through the transformation process. There is no better feeling in the world than helping to make a difference in the lives of others as it makes the struggle of growth worthwhile.

The Secret of Success

The principles of success are available to everyone. The key to beginning is to desire something more in your life and then begin to take steps toward achieving your goals.  Too many people do not succeed becasue they do not give themselves a chance to succeed!

STEP 1: Clarify your goals

One of the greatest challenges to make the kind of life or business changes you want is to be clear about what your goals are. All too often, people want some kind of change, but don’t know specifically what they want. It’s sort of like going to a travel agent and wanting to buy a ticket, but not having a destination in mind.

STEP 2: Develop a plan of action toward achieving your goals

The change process involves developing a plan of specific actions you can take toward reaching your goals. One of the most important parts of this step is creating a plan that is feasible so that you will be confident you can achieve your goals.

STEP 3: Implement your plan of action one step at a time

At some point in the change process you must let go of the security of the status quo in order to have any chance of success.
Dreaming of change without taking the needed actions to bring about change is just that – dreaming.

STEP 4: Keep the energy moving by doing your part toward achieving your goals

The beginning of the change process can be exciting and scary at the same time.  Too many times people take a few initial steps toward change and then stop. Change doesn’t happen overnight, but it does happen when you keep moving forward no matter how small the steps.

It’s Never Too Late

It’s never too late to live the life you really want. Whether you are in recovery and want more to your life than just not drinking or drugging or perhaps you own a business and would like to be more successful. Maybe you’ve tried and failed before, but that doesn’t mean there is no hope for you.

It’s never too late to reach for your dreams. Maybe you want to go back to school to pursue a new career, but believe you are too old. The story you tell yourself that you are too old or aren’t smart enough, is just that. A story. It isn’t the reality.

It’s never too late to change the path you are on. If your way is not working, you can try a different way. The reality is that the life you dream of is waiting for you to claim it.

Think you’re different and don’t deserve good things in life? Believe you’ve messed up so many times in the past that you are doomed to failure? I know from my own experience at transforming my life how powerful those negative beliefs can be. They have held me back from reaching out for what I truly long for in my life for far-too long. But that doesn’t mean that I have to give up and accept the status quo. I refuse to believe there isn’t always hope for something better.

It’s never too late to finally give yourself a chance.

It’s never too late to change your life.  Here are some inspiring ideas and helpful resources you can use to reach your life and business goals.
